The National Democratic Party (NDP) has lost its parliamentary candidate for Atwima Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Bright Asiamah to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Explaining his reason for abandoning the NDP, Mr Asiamah, who was to challenge the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Isaac Kwame Asiamah, disclosed that the NDP was in bed with the NPP.

According to him, he did not approve of this clandestine alliance hence his decision to defect to the NDC.

Mr Asiamah said the NDP should rather be seen as “NDPP” because of the ulterior agenda it has to help the leading opposition party to return to power.

His defection to the ruling party comes in the wake of several others in the same direction over the last one week.
