Highlife musician, Lucky Mensah had expressed the desire to be involved in the National Patriotic Party’s (NPP) political campaign after producing his latest ‘Yese Samu’ song.

And true to form, party functionaries enabled him to meet with the party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo where he presented him with copies of his song.

In the pictures which emerged where Mr. Mensah and Nana Addo could be seen exchanging pleasantries, there appeared to be a brown envelope in Lucky’s hand while Nana Addo had a compact disc in his hand.

Nana Akufo-Addo posted photos of himself with Mr. Mensah afterwards with the caption, “Ghanaian highlife musician, Lucky Mensah, visited me at my Nima residence this morning. He presented me with a copy of his latest song, ‘Yeresesamu’, which endorses my candidature ahead of the December election.”

The pictures led to claims Lucky had been bought by the NPP with cash leading to his switch from the NDC which he had campaigned for in previous elections but Lucky debunked such claims intimating although he was for NDC in the past, President Mahama’s inability to reign in corruption, the tough economic situation and wastage in the system compelled him to give the NPP a chance.
