The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, has cautioned candidates vying for various positions from the constituency, regional and national levels to stop engaging party executives or structures in any form of campaigning or soliciting support for the impending internal positions.
“The party leadership wishes to bring to the attention of all members and prospective aspirants at various levels that, until official nominations are duly opened, no individual is permitted to engage party executives or party structures in any form of campaigning or soliciting support for internal positions,” he stated.
Mr. Kodua in a statement dated Wednesday, May 14, 2025, noted that this directive is in line with the party’s commitment to fairness in the administration of its internal electoral processes.
He, however, posited that premature engagements not only undermine the authority of the party’s organs but also risk disrupting the careful and strategic efforts currently underway to reposition the party for victory in the 2028 general elections.
The chief scribe said the Party remains committed to transparency, inclusiveness, fairness and due process, adding it will provide timely updates on all relevant timelines and guidelines when nominations are officially opened.
“We therefore urge all members, supporters, and stakeholders to fully cooperate with this directive and refrain from any activities that could compromise party unity or the integrity of our processes. Let us remain focused and supportive of the internal reforms and efforts being spearheaded by the leadership to build a more formidable and cohesive Party” he appealed.
