NPP heads to court to place injunction on Tamale Central Parliamentary elections

The New Patriotic Party(NPP) is heading to court to place an interlocutory injunction on the of the Tamale Central Parliamentary elections.

The party is contesting the outcome of elections in that area claiming they realized over-voting on the results of some polling stations at the collation center.

The NPP Tamale Central Parliamentary Candidate, Dr. Ibrahim Imoro has declined signing the Electoral Commission’s statement of polls and called for nullification of votes at the unknown polling stations.

The EC has however not reacted to the demands of the Parliamentary candidate which leaves him with no choice than to head to court to place injunction on the results.

Information gathered by Primenewsghana indicates that lawyers of the party are in Tamale initiate the court issue between the party and the EC.

The party claim they have clear evidence of malfeasance regarding the parliamentary elections at the collation center and expressed their satisfaction.

They argued that, there were instances of over-voting and destroyed ballot boxers which does not help as far as free and fair elections are concerned.
