The two major political parties in the country, the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) and the New Patriotic Party(NPP) has been on each other’s throat ahead of the December general elections.

The latest bombshell by the Minister of Trade, Fiifi Kwetey doing “setting the records straight” forum organized by the NDC in Accra on Thursday, to react to the NPP’s recent “Promises Made, Promises Broken, “press conference, was that the NPP injected cocaine money into the economy doing their tenure in office.

“The floodgate of cocaine was opened in the NPP administration and cocaine cash was flowing easily in the country,” he stated.

The Minister stated that, the then President Kufuor led administration had a lot of revenue from cocaine but could not transform then country for the better.

“It should be noted that, we tried not to even make reference to the fact that the NDC period was a period when the economy of Ghana was not inundated with massive cocaine cash as was experienced during the eight years of the NPP, when the floodgates of cocaine were opened and Ghana became a virtual cocaine hub,” Mr. Kwetey stated.

Government under President Mahama he said has managed the economy better even though cocaine cash was not in the system.
