Certified results from the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region indicate that incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Alex Afenyo Markins has retained his seat.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP polled 22,948 votes to beat the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Eric Don Arthur 12,628
Mr Markins wrestled the seat from the NDC in 2012 winning 19,334 against Mike Hammah'sÂ

This year's results means he has increased his vote count by over 3,000.
