The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win the upcoming November 7 presidential elections, a research has predicted.

According to the research conducted by a Senior Lecturer at the Statistics Department of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ezekiel Nii Noye Nortey, none of the two main political, the ruling National Democratic Congress  (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will secure a first round victory.

However, it puts the NPP ahead of the NDC, revealing that the elephant family will get 51.7% of the total votes cast against NDC's 48.3% to win the mandate of the people in the second round.

In an interview on TV3 on Thursday, the researcher said he used previous election results coupled with assumptions and presumptions to determine the outcome of his work without considering the situations the political parties find themselves in at the moment.
