The Office of the President has refuted claims that President John Dramani Mahama had accepted the resignation of Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Genfi.

In a statement signed by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, it clarified the President has not issued any such statement, describing the purported letter as ''fake''.

“The Office of the President has not issued any such statement. The circulating letter claiming that President Mahama has accepted the resignation of a Deputy Minister for Defence is fake,” the statement read.

This follows a social media post that circulated on November 12, 2025, alleging that the Deputy Minister of Defence, Brogya Genfi, had resigned following the death of six Ghanaians during the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise.
