National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) Kofi Portuphy has described President Nana Akufo-Addo as a 'legal alien' who is hardly present in the country due to numerous travels.

Addressing the Press in Accra today(Thursday), Mr. Portuphy said the President is often out of town and never available to deal with challenges facing the country.

He therefore asked the President to cease what he believes to be an enormous number of overseas travels and fix Ghana's problems as the many people who voted for the party are already disappointed in his presidency.

"The President must stop traveling and pin himself down to do some work as the country is suffering since the NPP came into office," he stated.

He added that Ghana is bleeding under the watch of the NPP and the over bloated government is wasting the nation's resources.

"Government is a serious business and we would not allow the country to be destroyed by nepotism, ethnicity as well as lawlessness," he added.

The NDC Chairperson is also demanding that expenses made on the President's journeys outside the country be disclosed including the per diems for himself and 'associates'.

The nation he said, suffers when unrighteous people are in power,  referring to the 110 ministers appointed by President Nana Addo.

"Ministries such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Procurement, Planning, and Aviation are all useless as their functions could be performed by agencies and departments," he stated.

He said, Ghanaians expected good governance from the NPP but are now blaming themselves for voting the NDC out of power.
