Deputy Chair of the Electoral Commission in charge of Operations, Amadu Sulley has complained to the Chairperson of the Commission Charlotte Osei for sidelining him in the day-to-day administration of the election management body.

In a letter to Mrs Osei, Mr Sulley said the Chair is now dealing with the Director of Human Resource Samuel Boadu on issues that are supposed to be channelled to him[Sulley] in breach of administrative procedure.

Madam Charlotte Osei on the 5th of June directed the Deputy Chairperson Corporate Services, Georgina Opoku Amankwa to proceed on leave on the recommendation of the Economic and Organised Crime Office, EOCO, which is investigating accusations of financial mismanagement against her.

Mr Sulley said per the regulations of the EC, he should act in the position of Mrs Amankwah but this has not been the case since he was recalled from leave on the 20th of June 2017.

The letter said "I have observed with concern your non-recognition of my presence in the office since you[EC Chair] resumed from leave. This is because you have been dealing with the Director, Human Resource (Samuel Boadu) in the absence of the Deputy Chairperson, Corporate Services."

He added that it is ill-fated that Charlotte Osei has resorted to the Director of Human Resource (Mr Samuel Boadu) as her Deputy contrary to administrative procedure and craved her indulgence to act in accordance with the structures of the commission.
