The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a brief break from the party’s ongoing nationwide “Thank You” tour.
This is to allow him to attend to ''some pressing matters."
This was contained in a statement signed by NPP's Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah.
The statement further emphasised that Mr Ntim “remains fully committed to the tour” and is expected to rejoin the exercise in due course.
The party also expressed its appreciation for “all members’ continued support, enthusiasm, unwavering commitment, and cooperation.”
Mr Ntim becomes the 2nd personality to exit the tour after former Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyepong, pulled out on Wednesday morning (April 30).
Agyapong’s withdrawal came after a violent incident at a party event in Kumasi, where a student affiliated with his team was stabbed during a confrontation with armed men.
Agyapong, in his statement to the media, expressed his initial desire to join the tour for the sake of party unity, but stated that he felt unwelcome. He also cited safety concerns for his team as a reason for his withdrawal.
“Because of yesterday’s events, myself and my team want to pull out because lives are threatened. I don’t think I can adequately protect my team,” Agyapong said.
