The Electoral Commission(EC) of Ghana has said that the ongoing general elections have so far been successful.

Speaking at a just- ended press conference, Director of Elections at the EC, Samuel Tettey said, though voting has delayed in two areas, the total exercise has been successful.

Voting at some Islands in the Afram Plains have been extended to 10pm following complaint by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) while voting at the Jaman Constituency has been postponed to tomorrow due to challenges with moving materials to the area as well as security concerns.

He added that, adequate arrangements would be made to ensure that everyone votes in the affected areas.

“But beyond all that, there exercise has been successful across the country and hope that would continue with the counting and announcement of results,” he stated.

He added that, there has not been any issue of breakdown of verification machines as recorded last four years.

The EC he said would continue to give updates on the results before the final declaration is made.
