The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has issued a report covering the month of June penciling the NDC as the most abusive party on radio.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly made a total of 49 indecent statements on radio followed by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 27.
A total of 2348 radio programmes were monitored within a month. Programmes monitored included news bulletins, political and current affairs discussions programmes aired on 50 stations.
The NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, George Lawson however holds that the party mustn’t be blamed for unguarded comments made by panellists Godwin Ako Gunn and Alistair Nelson who claim to sympathise with the party adding the Supreme Court in its wisdom summoned the contemnors and not the party.
The Deputy General Secretary stressed on Joy News “if an individual makes a statement, attribute it to him, not the party.â€
He was displeased with MFWA’s report implying the party had needlessly been roped in with the NPP which took the crown of the most abusive and indecent language user on radio in May.
