The General Secretary of the All People's Congress (APC), Razak Kojo Opoku says the party’s manifesto unveiled in Accra on Thursday, is heavy on agriculture linked to industrialization.

“We import practically everything and when we continue on that path, there is no way the cedi can fare better than the dollar and other currencies” he preached on Radio Ghana’s ‘Behind the News’ show as reason the party is keen to support local businesses.

Mr. Opoku further rendered every agric product with export value will be processed in the country as a Hassan Ayariga presidency will build processing plants all over the country to add value to farm produce and compete with other global brands.

“…An APC government intends to equip the personnel of the country technically by crafting an educational policy which focuses on science, engineering and mathematics to build technical men for the state while having enough to export to other states.”

Interventions citizens can expect to gain from an APC government include Child and Unemployed allowances and the Creative Development Fund for arts persons.

Razak Opoku rubbished claims by certain New Patriotic Party (NPP) functionaries that the APC’s manifesto is a plagiarised version of its manifesto it plans to launch on Sunday at the Trade Fair Centre.

He wondered how could a party which was yet to unveil its manifesto blame one which has offered its own pointing out the APC document was carefully formulated.

He observed, although the APC was just formed in 2016 and secured its license on April 22, managed to unveil its manifesto despite the NPP electing its presidential aspirant even before APC leader, Ayariga formed the party telling the NPP “to stop crying like a baby.”

“When it comes to Nana Addo and policy, he is bankrupt. It’s clearly childish for him to go about pledging 1 dam, 1 village and 1 district, 1 factory,” Razak Opoku concluded.
