A group in the Volta Region, Volta Youth for Development is calling on President Mahama to reign in his deputy, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
In an interview with primenewsghana, the convener of the group, Innocent Supremo Esimebia Tetteh said the vice president has not been responding to economic issues as expected of him but rather saying things that are not needed.

When President John Mahama realized the incompetency of his Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, he decided not to give him an opportunity to operate as a Vice President and as a result made the VEEP redundant.
Due to that, the Volta Youth for Development (VYD) realized that he was incompetent and must be replaced with Hon Doe Adjaho to enable NDC win the upcoming elections, two other groups also called on President Mahama to drop him because of same belief of his incompetence.
The first group called Friends of Mahama described the Vice president as a complete failure and for that matter Madam Hannah Tetteh should be chosen as the president’s running mate.
The last group Ga-Adangme youth also called on President Mahama to consider former Accra Metropolitan Assembly Mayor, Hon. Oko Vanderpuye as his running mate since Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur is weak and visionless to lead the NDC into victory for future elections.
Now the Volta Youth for Development (VYD) can say on authority that Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur is completely incompetent and must be called to order.
As the head of the economic management team, instead of him to arrange a meeting for the Economic Management Team of the government to discuss critical economic issues of the country which he has not done none for a long time, he has rather chosen to go on political platforms to make unguarded statements about short people as if he is a foot soldier or a propaganda secretary of the party.
Worst of all is Paa kwesi Amissah Arthur's total inability to stand-up against the running mate of the Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Bawumia when the latter challenged the NDC on economic grounds.
It became even more annoying when he dodged a debate he pushed for with a lame excuse as; "a former colleague at Legon asked me not to respond to Dr Bawumia".
If he cannot challenge a mere running mate from an opposition party then we are wondering how he can debate and negotiate effectively with strong foreign governments and international organisations like the IMF and others?
Finally, we are calling on President Mahama to advice his running mate to concentrate and do more government business as required of him as the head of the economic management team and leave the propaganda to the party foot soldiers and communicators to handle before he disgraces himself, party and Ghana.
Ghana deserves better.
