Parliament’s Appointment Committee is expected to continue its vetting of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s ministerial nominees today [Monday] March 27 with four ministers of state designate slated to appear before it.

The four are Deputy Majority Leader Sarah Adwoa Safo, Minister of State nominee for Procurement, Professor Kwesi Yankah, Minister-designate for Tertiary Education; Dr Nura Gyiele, Minister-designate for Agriculture, and Brian Acheampong, Minister of State-designate at the Office of the President.

After the vetting of the four, the committee will from Tuesday start the vetting of the much talked about 50 deputy ministerial nominees.

Information available indicates that 15 of the deputy ministers will vetted before the House goes on recess.

As things stand now, the full compliment of President Nana Akufo-Addo's government will likely not be complete as Parliament is scheduled to rise on Thursday, March 30, 2017, and it is highly unlikely if any of the appointees will be approved before the House rises.

Even if the committee sits during recess to vet the nominees, the nominees would still have to wait for the approval of the full House which may not be until May.
