President John Mahama has revealed that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has fully recovered.
He said the Vice President had fully recovered and that she would be in the country by the end of next week to resume her duties.
Speaking during his 'Thank You Tour' in Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region, on Friday, May 16, President Mahama expressed his relief and gratitude for the Vice President’s improved health.
“I begin by bringing you greetings from Her Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and I am happy to state that I spoke to her yesterday morning, and she will be back in the country before the end of next week. By God’s grace, she has fully recovered, and she is going to come and go back to her duties.”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was reported to have suffered a sudden illness on Friday, March 28, 2025, and sought medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) the following day.
However, she had to be sent abroad following medical advice.
She began a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025, and travelled abroad for further treatment to ensure a full recovery
