The Deputy Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has called on supporters of the NDC to accept defeat and plan towards the next election.

Speaking to NEAT FM’s morning show host Kwasi Aboagye, he said "in a multi-party democracy, we can’t continue to win elections all the time. There are times you will win and there are times you will lose. This is not the first time we are losing an election.”

According to him, the party did its possible best to remain in power but the "unfortunate" thing happened when majority of the electorates kicked them out of power.

Fred Agbenyo was responding to an incident at their party’s headquarters after a ‘diehard’ supporter of their party nearly attacked him and other comrades for mismanaging funds allocated to grassroot supporters during their campaign.

The well-built angry man blamed the leadership of the ‘Umbrella’ fraternity for President Mahama’s loss to the presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the just-ended elections.

But Mr Agbenyo on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie' said, "we are likely to face these attacks from our supporters because they are hurt just like some of us.”
