Director of Communications at Presidency Eugene Arhin says the government will make available findings of corruption allegation made against three appointees, though he did not stipulate when the job will be completed.

Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye, the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff have been accused of making “requests” before allowing people to see the president. In a Facebook post where he called the two “stupid,” A-Plus said the two are not only arrogant but corrupt.

“…7 months of NPP government. So far so good except appointing some very corrupt official including the two very stupid deputy chiefs of staff. It’s amazing how Nana was able to appoint two thieves whose level of stupidity is the same. Arrogant and corrupt fools. You think you’ll be in power forever. Even John Mahama I was not afraid of him then you (sic).”

MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyepong, who endorsed the artist’s claims, said investigations should go beyond the two, insisting others at the presidency are using their positions to amass wealth.

“Abu Jinapor and Asenso-Boakye are not the only two alleged to be involved in corrupt activities at the presidency, there are many others as well. When I started complaining about the President being surrounded by sycophants and corrupt people, I had people calling me to stop making those allegations.”

Speaking to Accra based Hot FM, Mr. Arhin, who denied knowledge of any of the allegations, said President Akufo-Addo has instructed the security agencies to look into them and the accusers will have the chance to put before the security agencies their evidence, in order for the right things to be done.

These allegations are coming in the wake of repeated assurances by the president he will not shy away from calling on the security agencies to investigate any member of his administration said to have been caught on the wrong side of the law.

“Let me reassure you of one thing. Any allegation of corruption against any official member of my government will be investigated by the law enforcement agencies. And those who made that allegation better be prepared to support it when they are making these allegations of corruption because nobody is going to get away with it,” the President told delegates at the party’s conference in Cape Coast over the weekend.

This appears to be the first test case of government’s resolve to fighting corruption, some political analysts say, and the outcome will either strengthen the process of accountability or undermine the president’s own resolve to fighting the canker.
