Engineers & Planners (E&P) has contributed $2 million to support Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, delivering on part of its earlier pledge to back the national team.
The amount was presented on Thursday, April 30, 2026, to Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem by a delegation led by the company’s founder, Ibrahim Mahama. The payment forms the first tranche of a $5 million sponsorship commitment announced by E&P in March.
The fundraising initiative is aimed at mobilising resources to support key areas of preparation, including training programmes, logistics, infrastructure development, and international engagements ahead of the tournament, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana, four-time African champions, are drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, with expectations high that enhanced financial backing will strengthen the team’s competitiveness on the global stage.
Meanwhile, the wider fundraising campaign continues to gain momentum, attracting substantial support from both corporate organisations and individuals.
Among corporate contributors, Gold Fields Ghana has pledged $2 million, with an additional $1 million expected next year. KGL Group has committed GH₵10 million, half of which has already been disbursed, while Christian Salamony Game Technology has also contributed $2 million.
Serene Insurance has pledged GH₵2 million in cash alongside a GH₵20 million insurance package, while Jewel Energy and Icon Energy have each committed GH₵1 million. An anonymous donor has also added a $1 million pledge.
On the individual and entertainment side, Shatta Wale has pledged $100,000 to support fan engagement activities at the tournament, while Stonebwoy has contributed $101,000 in cash and creative services for a campaign song.
Additional donations include GH₵240,000 from Alex Okyere of KAF Company Ltd and $300,000 from Timeline and Innovation Company, led by Alhaji Musah.
More pledges are expected in the coming weeks as the nationwide fundraising drive intensifies ahead of football’s global showpiece.
