5G network to be tested at the 2018 Olympic Games

Aside the tension and exciting sporting atmosphere that will be created at the 2018 Olympic Games, the new generation of technology, 5G will be tested for the first time at the Games.
With the new technology, patrons of the event are guaranteed an outstanding connection to share and interact with people across the world.
 
It would also help to spread the Olympics experience across the globe especially with people who would not be at the venue.
 
This was disclosed by  Head of Marketing and Communications, West and Central Africa, at Ericsson,Michelle Davadoss, during a meeting with the media in Accra.
 
She said, the outfit is not in a rush to introduce 5G as they need to prepare the grounds ahead of 2022 but would test the new technology in 2018.
 
"We need to start thinking and get closer to 5G step by step. Globally, 5Gh is not ready as there need to be a whole ecosystem shift.The 5G network  would be tested at the 2018 Olympic Games but the conversation would begin to get the entire world ready for 5G,"she stated.
 
"We intend to connect anything that can be connected,with solutions and partnerships with other suppliers and sports lovers would be first to experience such connectivity",she stated.
 
The 2018 Olympics would be held for 17 days from February 9 to 25,2018 in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, the Republic of Korea.
