In-form Ghanaian forward Joe Dodoo scored his fifth goal in nine games to guide Blackpool through to the next round of the FA Cup.

Dodoo’s strike helped Blackpool to a 3-2 victory over non-league Solihull Moors, setting up a Third Round glamour tie with Arsenal.

The ex-England youth international is a forgotten man at Rangers, having failed to impress during his time in Scotland.

Dodoo was sent out on loan to Blackpool to prove a point to Steven Gerrard but he struggled at first with the League One side.

The 23-year-old, who scored twice in eight games for Charlton Athletic last season, only had one goal in nine appearances for Blackpool by early November.

In fact, Dodoo was struggling for game time before his goal in the FA Cup gave him the confidence to kick on.

With five goals in his last nine, he may yet have a Rangers future.

But Dodoo still may struggle to break back into the Rangers team as Gerrard is constantly looking for fresh faces.

Rangers might even use the January transfer window to bring in new players, pushing Dodoo further down the pecking order.

Moreover, the former Leicester City forward suffered an injury last night after scoring his goal and he may now miss a chunk of the season.

This could hamper his form and halt his progress, as well as giving him less time to impress Gerrard.

But his recent form would have caught the eye and if he can keep that up, there may be a second chance at Ibrox for Dodoo.
