Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has made history as the first Ghanaian footballer named to the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Premier League Team of the Year.
Semenyo is included in a star-studded lineup featuring five Arsenal players, four Manchester City players, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Brentford striker Igor Thiago.
The Manchester City forward was recognised by his fellow professionals following an impressive 2025/26 campaign, during which he established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attacking players.
His selection caps a remarkable season that saw him combine explosive form at Bournemouth with an impressive transition to Manchester City.
The Ghanaian’s performances also earned him a nomination for the prestigious PFA Players’ Player of the Year award, although he ultimately missed out on the individual prize.
