Armwrestling Train hits Accra Academy on Saturday

Armwrestling will be the center of attraction during the 2017 edition of the Accra Academy Homecoming Festival on Saturday, August 5 at the school campus.

The event would see the students test their muscles for the bragging right as the undisputed strongman while old boys would also use the opportunity to settle their scores.

Under the auspices of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, the Armwrestling Train is aimed at partnering with communities and institutions to develop and promote the sports across the country.

The planning committee as part of efforts to ensure a very memorable homecoming is working closely with the Armwrestling Federation to provide equipment and technical advise for Saturday's event.

According to the President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation(GAF),Charles Osei Asigbey, students of the Academy referred to as "Bleoobii" would have the opportunity to engage in the sport and talents could also be discovered and nurtured after the event.

"We intend to send the interesting sport to every corner of the society and engage everyone especially the youth who would show interest in the game,"he stated.

He added that, the Armwrestling Train would travel to other schools across the country and looking forward to an exciting event at the Accra Academy on Saturday. /GhanaNews
