Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan is set to unveil an Astro turf worth $200,000 USD at his Alma mater Accra Academy on Tuesday 18th July.
The project which was solely funded by the player is set to be one of the modern pitches in the Country.
Gyan was recently honoured with a doctorate degree for his exploits on the football field as well as his charity work with this new pitch being one of them.
The project which is known as the Asamoah Gyan sports center is made up of a playing pitch, tartan tracks, dressing rooms and floodlights.
The construction of this pitch is fulfillment of a promise made by the Gyan when he visited the school two years ago.
Gyan success in football is believed to have started at Accra Academy where he played as a striker for the School. He recently signed a deal with Turkish club Kayserispor.
