Ex-Black Stars player Augustine Arhinful has lauded the idea of local players in Kwesi Appiah's 24-man squad, which he believes it will serve as an inspiration for other local talents.

Three local players have been invited into the Black Stars set up for the final AFCON 2019 qualifier against Kenya on Saturday, March 23, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The trio are Felix Annan, Amos Frimpong and Kwame Bonsu from Kotoko and have been rewarded for their splendid performance in Kotoko's African Campaign.

According to Arhinful, the inclusion of local players is a right call and he tasked the home-based player to seize this opportunity to pave way for other stars.

"It is a good thing for the local-based players to be given the nod in the Black Stars to prove what they can offer and I believe it will serve as a motivation for others in playing here" told Daily Graphic.

"This is a good initiative and I want to praise coach Kwesi Appiah for the opportunity he has given to these three players, especially with what they are doing with Kotoko in the African campaign."

The Black Stars will begin their preparations for Kenya's encounter tomorrow.
