Mali women national team coach Mohamed Saloum has applauded his team for capitalizing on the weakness of Ghana to secure a vital win.
The female eagles revived their campaign at the 2018 AWCON with a 2-1 win over the tournament hosts.
Two crucial goals from Bassira Toure proved enough to hand Mali the vital win and put Ghana on the edge of early elimination.
And coach Saloum in a post-match briefing revealed he studied the games of the Ghana team to identify their weaknesses and set up his team to exploit them.
“We watched Ghana’s previous game and noted a lot of their mistakes,†he said.
“And we prepared to capitalize on their mistakes and that is exactly we did to win the game.â€

Mali now has to pick yet another win against Algeria in their final group game on Friday, November 23 to progress to the semi finals of the tournament.
