Black Meteors hat-trick hero Kwabena Owusu has revealed his aspiration to play for the Black Stars following his dazzling show in the 2019 AFCON U23 qualifier against Togo.

The Salmantino UDS forward became the toast of fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after bagging a hat-trick in Ghana’s 5-1 win over neighbours Togo in the first leg of the 2019 AFCON U23 qualifier.

In an interview with reporters after the match, the 21-year-old hitman could not hide his desire of playing for senior national team.

“Oh yeah, it’s my dream to play for the Black Stars. It’s not only me but I think every member of this squad will say same if you ask him this question,” Owusu said.

“I’m happy with the goals I scored but the job is not done until we play the second leg.”

Owusu netted 8 goals in 16 games for Salmantino in the first round of the 2018/19 Spanish Segunda B Division.

The striker hopes to make a replica of his feat when the Black Meteors engage Togo in the second leg on Saturday, December 22 in Lome.

The winner of both legs will face Gabon in the penultimate round of the qualifiers in March next year while the third and final round to determine the seven nations to join hosts Eqypt at the quadrennial competition is planned for June.
