The Black Satellites are out of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship campaign following a 0-0 draw with Togo in their final Group B fixture at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, on Sunday.
In a match Ghana needed to win to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive, the Black Satellites failed to breach the defence of Togo.
The result leaves Ghana third in Group B with two points from three matches, following defeats to Nigeria, a spirited draw against Burkina Faso and Sunday's stalemate against Togo.
Ghana is set to 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The competition has strengthened team cohesion, exposed the squad to high-level international football and provided invaluable lessons that will help shape the Black Satellites ahead of hosting Africa's premier youth football tournament next year.
While the campaign ended earlier than anticipated, the experience gained in Côte d'Ivoire is expected to prove invaluable as the technical team continues to mould a competitive side capable of challenging for continental honours on home soil in 2027.
