The Black Starlets continued their preparations for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Division Two side Zilina FC in a friendly encounter.

The match formed part of the team’s build-up programme as they intensify training ahead of the regional tournament, which also serves as the qualification pathway to the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Starlets showed promise, with a dominant display and a decisive goal securing the win.

The friendly match drew high-profile attendance from the leadership of the Association. Among them were GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, and Management Committee Chairman Frederick Acheampong, who were joined by other senior officials of the Association.

Their presence served as a huge motivation for the young players, with the leadership reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the team is well-prepared to make Ghana proud at the tournament in Ivory Coast.

The Black Starlets are expected to play more warm-up matches as part of their camping programme at the University of Ghana, before departing for the championship next month.
