Some national team players wanted me to pay bribe - Ex-Sports Minister

Former Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye has revealed that Players in the senior national team often came to his office to attempt to coerce him into paying some money in the form of bribes to enable the Black Stars qualify for tournaments.

The Member of Parliament for Odododiodio was on Atinka TV's Sports Court Show and made known some issues involving himself and officials of the Ghana Football Association during his time in Office.

"It is not only Inusah Fuseini who planted a camera in his office. I also had a camera and I recorded all the suspicious meetings I had in my office..."

"There were times National team players used to come to my office and tell me to pay protocol or else we would not qualify for the Word Cup, I have the recordings..."

"They tell me it is a norm and I use to send them away, I knew people were behind it, Check the Ghana vs Egypt game last World Cup qualifier how much did they say they spent on protocol." He revealed.

The outspoken Minister had a frosty relationship with authorities of the Ghana Football Association till he left Office.

This latest revelation may not surprise many as the Minister has constantly talked about things affecting Ghana football.
