The Black Stars clinched qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
This follows Otto Addo's men's 1-0 win over Comoros in the final day of the World Cup qualifying series.
A second-half strike from Tottenham's Mohammed Kudus at the Accra Sports Stadium was enough to sink "The Coelacanths."
The victory means Ghana tops Group I with 25 points, 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw, and will be making its fifth appearance at the Mundial, scheduled for Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America in June 2026.
How Ghana lined up
Otto Addo made three changes to his starting lineup for the match against Comoros.
Alidu Seidu, Jonas Adjetey, and Ebenezer Annan replaced Caleb Yirenkyi, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Gideon Mensah in a 3-4-3 formation.
Benjamin Asare retained his position in goal, while Jonas Adjetey, Alexander Djiku, and Mohammed Salisu formed a 3-back defence, allowing Alidu Seidu and Ebenezer Annan to play as wingbacks.
Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo maintained their midfield roles, while Antoine Semenyo, Mohammed Kudus, and Jordan Ayew led the attack in a front-three system.
