Newly-appointed Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac says the nation will make it to 17th edition of the FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

The coach said he has utmost belief in his players and if they also trust the process, Ghana will be rubbing shoulders with the very best in Qatar 2022.

“If I did not believe in making the World Cup, I would not have accepted the job. I believe in the players. If they believe in me the way I believe in them, we will achieve big things.”- Milovan Rajevac said.

Rajevac on Friday was named as the new coach of the Black Stars on a 1-year deal, with an option of another year on a $30,000 monthly salary.

Rajevac will be assisted by Maxwell Konadu and Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo.

He has been tasked to qualify Ghana for the World Cup 2022 and win next year's AFCON in Cameroon. He will receive $300,00 and another $300,000 should he achieve the double.

His immediate task will be to defeat Zimbabwe in the double-header in the World Cup qualifiers and subsequently qualify the team to the World Cup in 2022.

The Black Stars are chasing a return to the World Cup after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia.

It will be their fourth appearance at the global showpiece should they qualify for Qatar 2022.

The Black Stars currently sit in third place in the Group G table with 3 points following a win against Ethiopia and a defeat to South Africa.
