Neymar broke an Olympic record on Wednesday by scoring the fastest goal in the football competition's history to help secure a place in the final against Germany.

The Brazil captain netted after just 15 seconds against Honduras to better Janine Beckie of Canada's women's team, who scored with just 19 seconds on the clock against Australia on August 4.

It was nearly elation to devastation for Neymar, however, as he collided with Luis Lopez in the build up to his opening goal and was stretchered off after recieving treatment.

The Barcelona star was soon back on his feet and went on to score another goal from the penalty spot as well as assisting strikes by Marquinhos and Gabriel Jesus in the 6-0 victory.

Brazil will take on Germany on Saturday in a rematch of the infamous 7-1 victory for the current world champions at the Selecao's home World Cup in 2014 reports goal.com.
