The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards ceremony is set to be staged in Dakar, Senegal next year.

The Awards Gala will take place in Dakar on Tuesday, 8 January 2019.

The African football governing body released the nominees for the various fabled award on Friday morning.

Thirty-four (34) players are contesting for the African Player of the Year, fifteen (15) Women are contesting for the Women's African Player of the Year and other categories including the Youth Player of the Year, Men’s Coach of the Year, Women’s Coach of the Year, Men’s National Team of the Year and Women’s, National Team of the Year

The winners for the African Player of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year will be decided by the CAF Technical & Development Committee, Media Experts, Legends, Coaches of the quarter-finalists of the CAF, Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, Coaches and Captains of the national teams of the 54 Member Associations.
The other categories will be decided by CAF Technical & Development Committee, Media Experts, Legends, Coaches of the quarter-finalists of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
