CAF CL: Hearts of Oak rewarded with GHc10K after beating WAC

The Chief Executive Officer of Charger Limited the producers of Happy Man Bitters, Emmanuel Borketey Bortey made a donation of GHc10,000 to Hearts of Oak following their win over WAC.

Emmanuel Borketey Bortey who was impressed with the Phobians performance reward the team for their effort.

Isaac Mensah's first-half strike on Sunday ensured Hearts of Oak have a leg in the 'Group Stages' of the CAF Champions League after overcoming WAC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians beat WAC 1-0 to hold an advantage going in the second leg in Morocco on October 24.

The Premier League Champions are Ghana’s only representatives in any of CAF’s inter-club competitions ahead of the groupings for the 2021/2022 edition.

Hearts of Oak have reached this far after eliminating Guinean outfit CI Kamsar from the preliminary round.

 

Meanwhile, Samuel Boadu has called on Hearts of Oak fans urging them not to lose hope despite the club's slim win over WAC.

The Phobians gave a good account of themselves on the day, but the fans wanted more goals to make the return leg a mere formality.

They believed the team could have added a goal or two to Isaac Mensah's first-half strike.

However, Samuel Boadu has said despite his outfit beating WAC by a slim goal, they will still qualify.

Speaking after the game, the coach said his side have enough quality to make it to the next phase of the Champions League.

The coach in his post-match interview admitted they were wasteful in front of goal. He stressed that they have been working on it at training and it would pay off soon.
