CAFCC: Hearts of Oak to depart to Algeria today ahead of JS Saoura showdown

Hearts of Oak are set to leave the country for Algeria today ahead of Sunday's clash against JS Saoura in the 2nd leg of the CAF Confederation Cup. 

The team is expected to travel to Algeria with a 24-man squad with Salifu Ibrahim facing a late fitness test to be included in the list.

The Phobians last Sunday secured a first-leg advantage over their opponents at the Accra Sports Stadium with goals from Ibrahim Salifu and Isaac Agyenim Boateng.

Due to Hearts of Oak's assignment in Africa, the GFA has communicated that the Phobians matchday 7 clash against Asante Kotoko has been postponed.

According to the GFA,  the itinerary of Hearts of Oak in respect of the 2nd leg of the CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie against JS Souara which makes them unable to return in good time to honour the fixture.

The Ghanaian Champions are expected to return home on Friday, December 10, 2021 – making it impossible to play the match on Sunday, December 12.

Hearts of Oak head into the fixture with a 2-0 advantage from the 1st leg and would hope to hang on to qualify for the Group stage of the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup.
