In what could be described as the day of his career, Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Soulama Abdoulaye scored an own goal and received a red card as his side fell to a 1-0 home defeat by arch-rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Monday.

The game was fairly balanced until the 30th minute when Kotoko's Edwin Tuffour was sent after receiving a second yellow card giving Hearts a slight advantage.

But Soulama's calamitous clearance from what looked liked a harmless back pass in the 43rd minute turned out to be the only goal of the match.

As if the own goal was not bad enough, the Burkina Faso international was given the marching off orders for a last man tackle on Kotoko striker, Dauda Mohammed in after 63 minutes.

The win at the packed to capacity Accra Sports Stadium moved Kotoko to ninth on the log with 14 points after 10 games.
