Cazorla has been in sensational form for the Gunners at the start of the new season and has helped guide the club to four consecutive victories in the Premier League in recent weeks.

The 31-year-old's current contract at the Emirates is due to expire at the end of the campaign but, despite his impressive form, Cazorla reveals he is yet to be offered an extension.

'No, I don't have any news from the club [regarding a new contract],' he told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

'My focus now is on playing and to be able to enjoy playing football following a season when I had lots of [injury] problems.'

Cazorla has already formed a strong partnership with Arsenal's big-money summer signing Granit Xhaka.

After losing to Liverpool on the opening day, the Gunners have now picked up 13 points out of a possible 15 in the league – including an impressive win over title rivals Chelsea last weekend.

Cazorla is expected to start for Arsenal in Sunday's trip to newly-promoted Burnley and the Spaniard hopes his future can be resolved sooner rather than later.

'I hope I can stay here and continue to play. I am happy here. What a player wants is to play and to feel important,' he said.

'Fortunately, since I arrived at Arsenal, I've had the confidence of the coach and of my team.'
