CK Akunnor suspended by Ashgold

CK Akunnor has been suspended by his team, Ashanti Gold Sporting Club for being unable to resume work for the first team.

CK Akunnor, former black stars player and former Dreams Fc manager was expected to resume work in Obuasi at the start of the week to continue his work as a manager of the club following a short break.

However, CK Akunnor was found doing punditry work on TV in the ongoing World Cup in Russia.

This action of CK Akunnor annoyed the top hierarchy of the club, therefore, took a decision to place him on an interim ban.

“CK (Akunnor) is currently suspended until further notice,” A club source told footballmadeinghana.com

“The coach has been asked to answer questions as to why he was not at post at the time he was supposed to be,”

Tension between Akunnor and the leadership of the club has been on the rise especially after the coach publicly disagreed the signing of striker Sadick Adams who later left for Libya.

Akunnor joined Ashgold last season and helped them to avoid relegation. CK Akunnor has led the team to a top 5 finish in the suspended GPL.
