Commonwealth Games: Abeiku and Arthur fail to make final

Ghanaian swimmers Abeiku Jackson and Jason Arthur failed to qualify to the finals of their respective swimming events in the on-going Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The two made it to the semi-final of the event and were hoping to book a final place and win some laurels.

Jason Arthur clocked 56.85sec, 0.33sec slower than the 56.52sec he made in the heats of the men's 100 metres and finished 6th.

Abeiku Jackson also could not progress to the finals after making 24.86sec of the 50m Men butterfly swimming race.

He also ended up on the 8th position.

Female swimmer Maaya Ayawere will take part in her heat in the women’s 50m Freestyle Friday morning at 00:47gmt.
