A Daniel Amartey goal salvaged a point for Leicester City on Thursday as they drew 1-1 against Spartak Moscow at the King Power Stadium.

The Ghanaian, Amartey,  rose highest to head home from a corner to draw his outfit level after Spartak Moscow had taken the lead in the second half.

The visitors took a shock lead on the 51st minute when Victor Moses made his way into the box.

Mikhail Ignatov produced a brilliant cross from the right-wing to find the unmarked winger, who guided a header beyond Kasper Schmeichel to stun the home faithful.

Spartak temporarily pushed Brendan Rodgers’ side bottom of the group with that opener, as they looked for their first win in ten matches against an English side.

Leicester quickly rallied though and got the goal that their overall play deserved when Ryan Bertrand’s corner was flicked on by Ayoze Pérez for Daniel Amartey to head home emphatically.

Jamie Vardy had a chance to get on the scoresheet, as Ademola Lookman was impeded by Moses in the box.

Vardy placed the ball on the spot and struck true, but he was brilliantly denied by Aleksandr Selikhov, who got down smartly to his left.

Despite Leicester's late surge, the game ended level, and the draw means the 'Foxes' remain third on five points in a tight Group C, one point ahead of Spartak and one behind Legia Warsaw, their next opponents.
