Tottenham Hotspurs have suffered a second successive defeat with a 1-2 loss to Liverpool after their defeat against the Watford before the international break in the EPL.

The Lilywhites were not at their best as Liverpool capitalised on their sluggish play to beat them at Wembley.

Liverpool had to wait till the 39th minute to score the opening goal through midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum who rose to head home following a poor clearance from goalkeeper Vorm.

Klopp's outfit in the second half created several chances to put the game to bed but spurn all those opportunities.

They finally found the second in the 54th minute through Roberto Firmino who tapped the ball into the unguarded net after a lovely play from Sadio Mane.

Lamela in the injury time gave Spurs as lifeline with a brilliant finish but the scare was not enough as Liverpool carried the day with a 2-1 victory.

The Reds have won their five opening EPL matches for the first time in their history.
