Manchester United woes continued at the St James Park after losing 1-0 to Newcastle United.

The game was a must-win for Man United after failing to record an away win in their last ten games in all competitions.

Newcastle United started with great intent and showed signs of scoring early. They were, however, unlucky after Sean Longstaff's effort came off the crossbar.

Man United had to wait till the 40th minute to register their first shot on target.

It was a first half of few chances and it eventually ended 0-0.

The second half was like the first with Man United dominating possession but Newcastle created better chances.

The breakthrough for Newcastle came in the 72nd minute, a counter-attack saw left-back Jetro Willems cut the ball back for Matthew Longstaff who shot from 25 yards to beat David de Gea.

Man United searched for the equalizer but were unable to find it as their attack has been poor since the season started.

This is Man United's second loss in the Premier League this season and they have won only two games and drawn three.

Their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under intense pressure as this loss could play a role in his chances of being at the helm of affairs for long.
