Former Ghana and Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has been honored at Azerbaijani top-flight side Sabail FC.
Essien was at the Bayil Arena Stadium in Baku and met players of the top-flight side to initially motivate and inspire them with their careers going forward.
He was presented with a Sabail jersey for his all-time tremendous career.
The retired Ghana international wished the club success in future endeavors.Â
Essien was in the Azerbaijani capital where he played in an exhibition match dubbed "Baku 2019: Stars Final" held on March 3.
