FIFA U-17 winning coach, Sam Arday dies

Distinguished Ghanaian coach, Sam Arday has passed away, reports suggest.

Coach Arday, 71, is said to have died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital at about 1pm Sunday after a short illness

He became world famous during his stint as coach of Ghana's Olympic team for Barcelona 1992 where they won bronze, Africa's Olympic Soccer Medal.

He also Ghana's Black Starlets to the FIFA U-17 trophy in 1995 where he earned the nickname 'multi-system man', in reference to his description of his winning tactics as multi-system.

Coach Arday has been the Technical Director and one of the founders of the famous Feyenoord Football Academy at Gomoa Fetteh which has now become WAFA SC.
