Former IBF Bantamweight Champion Joseph Agbeko has said, the President of the Ghana Boxing Association's (GBA) description of him as a fraudulent boxer is having a toll on his career.

Peter Zwennes accused the boxer and his promotional outfit, Fresh King Promotions of engaging in fraudulent activities and failing to comply with the laws of the game.

The GBA did not sanction Agbeko's bout against Kenya’s Nick Otieno on June 30 and the bought was eventually called off.The GBA boss also described Fresh King Promotions as “problematic”  saying four years ago the Authority discovered at the last minute that the company in attempt to organize a bout, had no financial resource to cover the expenses of the bout.

Speaking to the media, Agbeko said “the GBA President’s allegations against me and the fight that has been called off has affected me a lot.I am a noble man and I have worked hard to build a name for myself.”

Agbeko stressed, “as a former Champion of the sport, it is unfair to refer to me as fraudulent. Joseph Agbeko is a boxer and a different entity from Fresh King Entertainment which is a company.”

The bout between the Ghanaian boxer and Otieno was allegedly organized by Fresh King Promotions an entity belonging to Agbeko, on the blind side of the GBA hence the Authority’s decision not to sanction the bout.
