GFA Presidency: Kweku Osei Palmer denies disqualification rumours

Ghana Football Association Presidential aspirant Wilfred Kweku Osei Palmer has denied rumours he has been disqualified to contest in the upcoming GFA elections.

Reports emerged on Tuesday morning that, the football administrator has been disqualified from the race to replace former boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Bankrollower of Division One League club, Tema Youth, however, took to his social media page to state that the reports should be disregarded.

 "Setting the record straight! Ihave not been disqualified from the GFA presidential race. Please ignore all rumours.#P4P"

Over the weekend, Kweku Osei Palmer was among the 6 other personalities who faced the Vetting Committee answering questions on why they should be allowed to contest in the upcoming elections.

He took his turn on Saturday and after the facing the panel for over two hours and he disclosed to the media that, the 5-man committee squeezed every juice out of him but he survived the test. 

 “Wow, they push me but I will say it went well. I was able to give explanations to some of the questions raised and I am most grateful. The Almighty had me prepared for most of the issues that they raised.”

The vetting results are expected to be announced in the coming days before the main elections are held on October 25.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Kweku Osei Palmer is set to hold a media launch for his campaign on Wednesday 2nd October 2019 at the Botsio Halla, Alisa Swiss Spirit Hotel in Accra at 2:00 pm.

Palmer served as an Executive committee member, Vice President of Black Stars management committee and also Chairman of Ghana U-20 team during the erstwhile administration.
