GPL:Hearts draw 1-1 with Liberty as Aduana thrashed Bechem 3-0

Accra Hearts of Oak were held to a 1-1 drawn game by Liberty Professionals in their Week 16 Ghana Premier League encounter on Sunday.

The Phobians were hoping to continue their impressive run in the first round of the league but Liberty ensured they shared the spoils in the exciting first game of the second round.

Liberty scored first through Ben Eshun in the 34th minute but Hearts responded immediately through Vincent Atinga's penalty before recess.

Both teams came back strongly in the second half in search of the winning goal but had to settle with a point each at the end of 90 minutes.

Elsewhere, Aduana Stars moved on top of the league table after beating Bechem United 3-0 at Dormaa.

They dethroned WAFA at the top of the league table after their impressive performance. WAFA on the other hand, lost by a lone goal in the hands on Inter Allies at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.

In other games, Accra Great Olympics beat Berekum Chelsea 1-0, Dwarfs walloped Elmina Sharks 3-1 at Cape Coast while Wa All Stars drew 1-1 with AshantiGold.

Medeama were the biggest winners on the day as they defeated Bolga All Stars 5-1 while Kumasi Asante Kotoko won by a lone goal against Tema Youth.
