Karela United and Medeama SC played a pulsating draw in the regional derby at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Friday in Ghana Premier League matchday 21 fixture.

The host in the first half of the match played well and deservedly had the lead after 35 minutes. A chance that fell to Patrick Mensah fired his outfit into the lead.

After recess, Medeama SC had a very bright start as the team scored in the first two minutes. Sule Musah displayed brilliance and scored with a powerful effort that hit the back of the Karela United net.

Despite both teams throwing caution to the wind in the dying embers of the game, they couldn't find the match-winner.

The result jumps Karela to 6th on the log with 29 points while Medeama SC stay 6th with 33 points.

Friday’s clash was their third meeting in the 2021/22 season with the previous encounters going either way. Justice Blay and Kofi Ansu Patrick scored in the second half as Medeama SC romped to a 2-0 win in the first round of the season.

The Mauves and Yellows were beaten by Karela in the Round of 64 of the MTN FA Cup.
